If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
Forget what we're told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden that's bursting into life
Chasing Cars - Snow Patrol.
Gary Lightbody, frontman of Snow Patrol, says it is the "most pure and open love song [he's] ever written." The phrase "Chasing Cars" came from Lightbody's father, in reference to a girl Lightbody was infatuated with, "You're like a dog chasing a car. You'll never catch it and you wouldn't know what to do with it if you did."[2]
I guess in some ways wha tthe father says is true. Infatuation seems to never lead to anywhere fruitful. We become dogs chasing cars, chasing something that you know you'll never be able to catch. Chasing something lightyears away from you. We begin to over-rate over and over until... when you finally get it, you realise it never really was what you thought it was.
sometimes it makes you think whether it was worth it at all.
I'm pretty unsure how this post came about either. I guess it was cause i really liked the meaning behind the whole song and did some research.
nah actually its a forewarning to a friend of mine. Ok so maybe warning's too harsh, I guess its more ofa feeling that i get cause I seriously thinks he's over-rating him too much. I have a hunch that even if they eventually end up together, she'll be rather disappointed. Like really. So if you do happen to see this, YES THIS IS FOR YOU YOU DUMB DUMB. this is my feeling, don't get angry or anything ok. Sometimes we should just stick to what we already have. Or if you don't, well.. see how things go i guess. Or maybe we should adopt Lake's life motto. "heck care"
Then again, who am i to bother about people's life when mine's just as screwed? haha.
cause dreams are never meant to come true. That's why they're called dreams, there to give you something to live for but at the same time its never materializing into reality.
By now people who know me well should see the familiarity of such a post. Yes, I've been slapped in the face. again.
It didn't really affect much to be honest. I guess it was that look of jubilance as the informant truimphantly announced to me. like thanks. As if i wasn't trying to let it sink into my system you had to gimme that attitude. oh wow.
so anyway, i finally found an old friend to watch transformers with. thanks kelvin :D
the movie simply rocked dammit. loved the special effects, even though i definitely did not appreciate the poor storyline. but still, the girl was hot, the effects was cool and Optimus Primus was at his awe-inspiring best. Its something i've sorely missed. A charismatic (albeit non-human) leader leading his team. Spiderman never had anyone to lead, and X-men had a past-it emotional loser called cyclops to lead them. Hell even Wolverine never inspired that much in me. But Optimus Primus was just like.. WOAH.
So anyway, like every other movie, there's definitely a quote worth mentioning. Like in Spiderman there was the "the greatest battle lies withing part", X-men had something like erm... yea i forgot. and Matrix had just too many that i cannot remember. LOL
I'm pretty tempted to put down "Brothers before whores" but nah, that's something i living anyway already. So i'm going with a more practical and pragmatic quote.
"No sacrifice, No victory"
Its like the one that says if it ain' hurt, it ain't working. The relevance is to my results, with a beautiful result of CCU B for GP, D for Chinese and U for H1 Lit I guess a significant portion of my time will have to be adjusted. Adjusted till it hurts. I guess sacrifice is a term i will have to endear soon if i'm to go far in this stupid shitty Jc life that i've chosen.
Where we go from here is a path still in my hands.
I've chosen. Have you?
