Man United striker Smith to make reserves return

Alan Smith will make his first appearance since suffering an horrific double-leg break at Liverpool in Manchester United's reserve team clash with Preston at Deepdale on Monday night.


The England international, who will be moved back into his favoured striker's role by Sir Alex Ferguson, has been involved in every United training session since returning for the start of pre-season last month.


However, Ferguson has been eager to hold Smith back and not rush his return from the shocking injury he suffered as he attempted to charge down John Arne Riise's thunderbolt shot during United's FA Cup defeat at Anfield in February.

But the Red Devils boss clearly believes it is time for Smith to step up his fitness fight and the 25-year-old has been chosen to play up front alongside Giuseppe Rossi at Deepdale.

'Alan has been doing great,' said Ferguson last week.

'He played in a closed-doors match for 60 minutes on Wednesday and did very well.

'He has had quite an amazing recovery. We all gave him a deadline of September but we could easily have pushed him to play now.

'We have taken the long view because we don't want any doubts or worry but we do want him back.'

Although Smith is highly unlikely to be pressed into service at Charlton on Wednesday, if he comes through tonight's test, there is an outside chance he could be involved at Watford on Saturday as Wayne Rooney and Paul Scholes both miss out through suspension.

after a whole day of sad stuff. finally some good news.

ITs my last P.E tomorrow. really going to miss it. i mean pe in a mixed school (lol i think i can get into a jc bah) is definitely going to be different from a VS PE lesson. FOR SURE.

lots of lasts in my life in this year. its...kinda sad sometimes when you think about it.

couple that with some of the stuff i was told today. i dunno la. was pre-occupied with that to even concentrate in tuition. i really dunno. its just sad that you can be so conscious of a problem you have, and YET be unable to rectify/solve dammit i just can't get the right word. just...err..i dunno. i'll just leave it at here

and today, i learnt that what goes around, comes around. Poor D Cruz is getting an overexposure to _ _ _ _ _ of all kinds. >.< even aaron lake has joined in the fun. and i haven't ^_^. heard that wai wan. i dun just bastard everyone u doofus. =p

last p.e we got a soccer match coming up. yap heng planned the formations le, we gonna take team photo tomorow haha. then studying with ben after school or something probably be in Marine Parade Library. see if that siao Cedar girl gonna be there again. according to Sheng wei, she's been there for the pat 2 days and studied for like 5 hours none stop, like from 4 to 9...siao sia LOL.
